Backstage Onstage

9 March 2010 No Comment

There’s no doubt that Paris runways were filled with tons of creativity this past weekend, but one designer pair took creativity to another level. Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren of Viktor & Rolf brought their backstage out onto the runway at their show in Paris. They both stood about midway down the runway and as each model came by they pieced apart her layers of clothing and added them to the next model in a new and inventive way. With the backdrop and the runway featuring a collage of gears and mechanical instruments the runway had the feeling of a fashion warehouse. Although their idea was unlike anything Paris runways have seen before, did it take away from the fashion they created? Or did it only add to their genius showing how versatile their designs are? Check it out here for yourself.
